SA109 - Making a Dresden

Description: The dresden can seem like an intimidating block, but we will break it down so it seems simple. This class will explore all aspects of dresden construction. We will start with fabric selection and the how tos of cutting a dresden. Students will learn tips for stitching the dresden wedges, as well as constructing the dresden block. Multiple types of appliqué will be demonstrated, including blind machine, decorative machine and hand appliqué. We will focus on one block from the May Chappell Georgia's Dresden or Blooming Dresden pattern. Students will also learn about setting blocks on point. Best for confident beginners or more experienced quilters looking to expand their dresden skills.
