Road to California is pleased to offer quilt guilds an opportunity to display and sell tickets for their raffle quilts. Up to four guilds may display their quilt each day. Please review the guidelines below for displaying your Raffle Quilt at Road to California.
Guidelines
Guilds are selected on a first come, first assigned basis. We will begin sending volunteer sheets and Raffle Quilt information on September 1, 2024. Please do not call and ask if your guild has been assigned until after September 1, 2024.
Participating guilds must provide 20 hours of white glove service to Road for each day the quilt is displayed. Each guild is required to provide a minimum of 1 volunteer to assist with hanging the contest and special exhibits for at least one full day on Monday or Tuesday for a minimum of 8 hours. Hanging your own exhibit or guild exhibit does not satisfy this requirement. Please be advised - Opportunity Quilt volunteers only receive admission the day they volunteer or the next available show day. We do not provide any additional perks beyond the single day admission for opportunity quilt volunteer hours.
Only three volunteers per guild may sign up in each time slot. Space is limited and times are assigned when Road has received all information required. If a shift is full, volunteers will be scheduled to serve at the next available time.
Each volunteer should check in at the volunteer desk 15 minutes before their shift and expect to stay 15 minutes after their shift is over. Each 2 hour + volunteer will receive a free entry bracelet.
Minimum shift for each person is 2 hours. Members may not split shifts.
Road will provide up to four complimentary passes for guild ticket sales persons the day their quilt is displayed. These passes are picked up when checking in at the volunteer desk.
Our volunteer chairperson will email you a form to use to schedule your members. You must complete the forms for scheduling your members prior to November 15. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of display space. It is important to use these forms to avoid scheduling problems. Please do not send the list as an excel sheet. Please only inlcude members who are volunteering in a shift (do not include the volunteers working the table).
Volunteer schedules are final when submitted. We cannot accommodate changes to the volunteer schedules.
Each guild must provide documented proof of current registration to conduct a raffle with the Attorney General’s Registry of Charitable Trusts. Forms for registering and reporting activities are available at http://ag.ca.gov/charities/raffles.php. Out of state guilds must provide a current registration for the STATE OF CALIFORNIA. Failure to provide the form will result in a forfeiture of display space.
