Description: Denim repair is one of the easiest ways to dip your toes into mending. We will cover the basics of patching and stitching by hand. These techniques not only prolong the life of your clothes but are also super satisfying and meditative. In this class I use time tested traditional hand-mending, quilting and Sashiko techniques to repair, reinforce and strengthen woven garments. Students learn how to select patching materials, prepare a repair area, and my approach to stitching tricky three-dimensional garments (think: booty area & skinny leg and arm tubes). Participants are provided patching materials and are invited to bring items to repair. Please bring several items to choose from. Who knows where the inspiration will take us. A great follow up to Intro to Sashiko and Drawing Your Own Sashiko Patterns.
