Skill Level: Beginner - Intermediate

Description: Ready to take your hand-sewing skills beyond the basics? In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the techniques, tips, and tricks for confidently stitching curves, corners, and other unusual shapes that often challenge sewists. Whether you’re working on quilt blocks, decorative quilting, or whimsical craft projects, you’ll discover how to achieve smooth, strong, and professional-looking results — all without a sewing machine.
We’ll cover:
• How to mark, cut, and prepare curved and irregular edges.
• Stitch choices for flexibility, durability, and beauty.
• Managing seam allowance on curves and tricky angles.
• Clipping, notching, and easing fabric for smooth finishes.
• Strategies for unusual shapes like scallops, circles, appliqués, and organic forms.
Perfect for beginners who have mastered the basics of hand stitching and want to expand their repertoire, as well as experienced sewists looking to refine their precision on complex shapes. You’ll leave with sample pieces, confidence in tackling any curve, and a few new “aha!” tricks for your sewing toolkit.
