6006C - Hawaiian Style Applique by Machine

Description: This fun method has a look of the Hawaiian style of quilting, using fused applique and quilted as you go. The day would involve cutting a pattern and fabric with fusible web and then doing the stitching, allow to make at least 2 blocks on the day. Either a large 18" block design that could make a cushion or a large quilt block or a 12" quilt block.

Machines provided by: BERNINA of America & Mel's Sewing & Fabric Center

Kits will be announced later.

Supply List: Batik fabrics work really well for this type of fused raw edge applique. Large 18;">Background fabrics (white is shown a light colour works well) require 20" squares or 13" squares
Cotton or cotton blend batting also 20" square or 13" square
Fusible web needs to be 18" square or 10" square
Backing fabric needs to be a little larger than the batting
Thread to match the applique fabrics.
Thread to match the background (light) fabric
Squares of paper - 18" and 12"
Pencil
Sharp scissors for cutting the applique, also for paper cutting
