Ashelyn Downs

Meet the Teacher: Ashelyn is a millennial maker and designer whose quilting style is deeply inspired by architecture, urban living, and the way that cities are designed. What began as a creative outlet while running another business quickly became a full-fledged passion: blending modern quilting with clean lines, structure, and the rhythm of everyday city life.
Influenced by neighborhood layouts, back streets, and the beauty of intentional design, Ashelyn creates quilt patterns that feel both graphic and lived-in. Her work reflects a love of modern aesthetics paired with the warmth and nostalgia of community spaces.
At the heart of everything she does is a mission to build confidence and connection within the modern quilting world. Ashelyn is passionate about creating an inclusive, inspiring community where quilters feel empowered to experiment, trust their creativity, and make beautiful quilts that truly fit their lifestyle. When she’s not designing, you’ll likely find her camping, exploring city spaces, or connecting with fellow makers who believe quilting should be as fun as it is meaningful.
