Description: If you haven’t yet tried Millefiori, here’s your opportunity to test the waters and create your own masterpiece with a little help from Diane. Using EPP, we will create a 36” square wall hanging quilt, learning fussy cutting using acrylic templates to create the look of new fabric designs. With this class you may decide you want to jump in and make the entire La Passacaglia quilt. If so, you will be well on your way. This is a handwork class, but Diane will be happy to talk you through using a machine for this project as well.

Description: Let me show you a fun way to create unique designs that are so versatile you can use them as background fills, in borders and blocks, and as feature designs in large areas of negative space. By marking a basic “Tilework” layout (think: straight grid, circular grid, triangles, mosaic, and more), then filling in areas with multiple freehand designs, you will create designs that are unique to you! You will see how endless the options are when you discover how many creative options you have. You can choose to have “grout” lines between your tiles if you like (or not), and then decide if you will quilt them, leave them un-quilted, or fill them with a design. All of these creative options allow you to determine the textural effects your design will provide.

In this one-day class, you will learn 10+ different gridded quilting designs that you will incorporate into a small quilted wallhanging. All designs will be based on a ½” or 1” grid. These designs can be used by any and all quilters, whether you’re a domestic machine quilter, a longarm quilter, or a hand quilter. You’ll be amazed at the beautiful designs you’ll master!
