Description: Intensive thread-painting gives you the freedom to make a very realistic, tapestry-like image entirely with thread, and the only skill you need is confident free-motion quilting!
Starting with your own sharp, good-quality photo, we will explore ways to create color combinations and textures to transform it into a realistic 8 ½” x 11” thread painting. You will be amazed by what you can do! In a one-day class, students will learn the basics of thread painting and start work on their own thread paintings.
Note: students must send their proposed photo (betsy@betsyhabich.com) no later than Sunday, January 12 for approval, possible editing, and printing. I will bring the printed photo to class made into a quilt sandwich, along with two color copies of the original photo for in-class exercises, so students can maximize their in-class work time. The instructor will bring copyright free images for the use of those who sign up after that date.

Kit Contents: Your Personal Photo, printed on cotton and made into a prepared quilt sandwich, with a second sandwich for practice.
