Description: Have you ever said, "My machine doesn't like that thread" or "I can only quilt with XYZ"? Then this is the workshop for you to learn about different weights of thread for quilting. Education is key, and Sarah will explain the uses and finished effects of different thread weights, as well as cotton, metallic, water-soluble, and monofilament fibers, in this hands-on workshop. Sarah also covers thread basics, including information on weight and ply, spool positioning, needle recommendations, and tension settings. She will offer helpful tips and tricks, then share projects and photos aimed to inspire and expand your use of threads. During the class, you will be quilting with a range of thread weights and varying quilting motifs. The skills taught in this workshop are transferable to your home domestic sewing machine.
