Patty Murphy

Meet the Teacher: Patty's lifelong passion for sewing began in childhood, guided by her mother's expert hands. From a young age, she wielded needle and thread with skill, crafting much of her own wardrobe during her teenage years. At 18, an unfortunate mishap with a pleated skirt led Patty to discover her love for quilting, and she hasn't looked back since.
Known for her bold and vibrant fabric choices, Patty infuses traditional designs with a fresh and contemporary flair. She finds joy in sharing her art with others, having taught quilting workshops across the United States and around the globe. Patty's literary contributions include her debut book, "Piecing Makeover" (2016), which remains a cherished resource for quilters worldwide. Following its success, she released the "Perfect Piecing Pocket Guide" (2022), a compact companion to her first publication. In November 2024 Patty's third book, "Zero Waste Quilting", was released. Outside her studio, Patty indulges in culinary adventures, baking delights, and cherishing moments with friends and loved ones. She calls Marietta, Georgia home, where she resides with her husband and two sons.
