Diane Vandiver

Diane was born and raised near New Orleans and earned her degree in education from High Point College in NC. She later became a flight attendant for American Airlines for a decade before starting her family. She settled in Georgia, to raise her children where she discovered her passion for quilting while being a homeschool mom.

After making her first quilt in 1997, Diane was hooked! In 2012, and more than 100 quilts later, Diane created the pattern company and website called Butterfly Threads Quilting. She has published dozens of patterns, created templates, and was a regular contributing writer to the Craftsy Quilting website for 5 years. Since 2015, Diane has been traveling the country teaching quilt techniques and sharing her love of scrap quilts! Her two books Scrap Quilt Secrets and Strip Quilt Secrets have both been published by C&T. Diane designs fabric for Blank Quilting Fabrics and enjoys longarming on her HQ Amara. She’s currently developing online classes and workshops.

Diane lives just north of Atlanta with her husband Chris and their golden retrievers Rumi and Daisy. They enjoy hiking, traveling and spending time with their children and grand babies.
