Description: Join our master class and learn the refined technique of creating exquisite bullion knots using a variety of fun embellishment threads. Guided by Sue Spargo learn tips & tricks to create the perfect bullion knot, and unique ways to use them in your current projects. In this class, you will: Learn how to stitch bullion knots along with multiple variations like bullion loops, cast-on bullion knots, beaded bullion knots, bullion chains and more! Experiment with a variety of embellishment threads and discover Sue’s favorites for achieving dimension with every stitch Upgrade your technique with the use of bullion knot needles Enjoy the company of other like-minded stitchers wanting to refine their skill!

Description: In this hands-on workshop students learn how to set up an inexpensive home studio to take high quality images using only their camera phone. This class is designed for textile artists who want to get the most out of their camera phone to be able to share their work quickly, and in the best light. Even if you just want to improve your daily shots there will be lots of basics and tips and tricks for improving images covered. Learn the basic elements of photography, and product photography, how to create a mobile home studio using daylight, helpful and inexpensive tools to improve image quality, how to edit photographs with apps. This is a hands-on workshop where you will have a chance to practice and explore the techniques covered in class. Bring your work to photograph, and phone in hand.

6006C – Hawaiian Style Applique by Machine

Skill Level: All Levels

Description: This fun method has a look of the Hawaiian style of quilting, using fused applique and quilted as you go. The day would involve cutting a pattern and fabric with fusible web and then doing the stitching, allow to make at least 2 blocks on the day. Either a large 18" block design that could make a cushion or a large quilt block or a 12" quilt block.

Supply List: Batik fabrics work really well for this type of fused raw edge applique. Large 18;">Background fabrics (white is shown a light colour works well) require 20" squares or 13" squares
Cotton or cotton blend batting also 20" square or 13" square
Fusible web needs to be 18" square or 10" square
Backing fabric needs to be a little larger than the batting
Thread to match the applique fabrics.
Thread to match the background (light) fabric
Squares of paper - 18" and 12"
Pencil
Sharp scissors for cutting the applique, also for paper cutting

Description: Join Sue Bouchard for an A-Z tutorial about zippers! Discover the ins and outs of zipper anatomy and construction. Watch as Sue demonstrates zipper installation and gives helpful tips to determine the size of zipper your project requires. Also, we will be constructing two small bags which feature installing zippers used to secure the top of the bags, inside hidden pockets, and outside pockets inset into the exterior fabric.

Kit Contents: All fabrics prepared and cut to size to complete two small bags, coordinating zippers as well as the patterns by Sue Bouchard. There will be a variety of fabrics to choose from.
