Description: Have you got a sewing room full of scraps? Then this is the class for you! Over two days we will design and begin stitching a different quilt for each student, using one of a range of simple but versatile shapes. Learn to string or crazy piece and start busting those scraps out. Each student brings a bag of scrap to share, and everyone will work from the Scrap Mountain!
The idea of this class is that we all have scraps that need using up. The photos given for the class enrolment are examples ONLY. The booklet that comes with the class has over 30 quilt layouts in it - however there is no quilt PATTERN as such, as everyone’s quilts will be different with the help of the pattern book and an interlocking template set. Each student’s quilt will be different colours, sizes, shapes and designs, based on what you want to make on the day!
On day one we will make our fabric using string or crazy pieced techniques, and begin to design our quilt tops, and on day two we will start to cut shapes and look at design opportunities and layouts for each student.
This class is fun, freeing and a bit of mayhem! With Sarah's guidance of course.

Description: This workshop is perfect for the quilter who would like to be guided through each step of the process for learning portrait quilting without having to design the pattern and templates from scratch. Using the class pattern, "A Beautiful Mindset," students can jump right in learning my raw edge appliqué technique. This is a great way to step up your portrait appliqué techniques by adding multiple values for skin tones. This class will be broken into two 3-hour sessions. Part 1, we will create the templates, cut them out and temporarily arrange the layout. Part 2 in the next session, we will iron down our portrait, add a background fabric and finish off the raw edges with decorative stitching. Kits are optional and can be purchased from the instructor.
