Description: In this immersive 6-hour workshop, students will explore the artful union of Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) and Appliqué to construct a breathtaking quilt block that celebrates the charm and elegance of Paris. Inspired by the iconic landmarks and hidden beauty of the City of Light, this class invites quilters to create a stunning visual “love letter” using two distinct but harmonious techniques.
Through the FPP portion of the course, students will sharpen their skills in:

--Confidently assembling irregular and intricate shapes
--Understanding seam orientation for clean, seamless joins
--Strategically placing and positioning fabric for strong visual impact
Then, shifting to Appliqué, participants will learn:
--How to prepare turned-edge shapes using freezer paper and starch
--Layering techniques to build dimensional, dynamic compositions
--Placement and orientation strategies for smooth integration with FPP backgrounds
--Best practices for secure, invisible stitching with clean edges
Whether it's piecing the Eiffel Tower with geometric precision or layering petals in a Parisian garden café, this class offers the tools and techniques to bring each motif to life with clarity, beauty, and confidence.
